Hawaii--Best Vacation Ever!

Eight Meehans on their way to Oahu.
(First flight for the youngest two!)

It's truly hard to believe we were able to take this family vacation.

Fourteen days ON the beach in Waikiki--swimming, surfing, lounging, playing, hiking, and being together in 80 degree weather--was heaven.

I'm so grateful.

Papaya standing on the balcony of our hotel.

Lunch at Duke's.

Taking a trolley around Waikiki. (To see Diamond Head.)

Fish Tacos near North Shore.

Snorkeling near North Shore.

Visiting the Visitor's Center for the LDS Laie Hawaii Temple.

Laie, Hawaii Temple.

Major highlight: kids rode the Outrigger Canoe.

Thanks to a dear friend who has been coming here for years,
we were able to get some awesome beach gear each day!

Zu and Lu in the pool swimming. For hours (view from our balcony).

The street is really like a boardwalk, just packed with people and shops, and parrots: Bum Bum and Yoda.

Hiking to a waterfall.

We were pretty happy to eat out . . . a lot.

So hilarious. Zu created and Bam was the model.

The views were amazing.

The kids managed to get in volleyball at night--after a day of swimming.

Sweet friends helped us get special passes to the Polynesian Cultural Center. We loved it (learned about 5 Polynesian cultures AND went to a luau.)

Great performer at the Tongan Village.

The Samoan performers climbed the coconut trees!

Farmer's Market on our last day. We had the best "donuts": malasadas. And more!

A tribute to our friend who helped set us up at our hotel with all kinds of toys!
