Let This Be A Lesson To You: Never Steal A Woman's Pickaxe

First of all, Happy Birthday to my mom! I love you and hope you have a great day! XOXOXOX

Now, onto Survivor One World!

Well, last night confirmed it: the women are in control of the game.

And when I say women, I mean KIM.

Wow--Kim is owning this game. It's incredible, really. (When you think about it, you've got 10 people left in the game and one person seems to be controlling it all. That's impressive.)

What did you think of last night's episode?

Here are a few of my thoughts:

--Day 1 alliances mean SO MUCH!
I think our season (South Pacific) and this season (One World) are proving that Day 1 alliances mean a TON in this game. (Well, if you can convince your alliance to stay the course--which isn't easy. Ahem, Cochran!)

In our season, the 3 controlling alliance members on Upolu--Sophie, Albert, and Coach--were able to make it to F3. And, it looks to me like Sabrina, Kim, and Chelsea are going to make it F3 for Salani. And UNLESS Chelsea or Sabrina make a move and take Kim out at F5 of F6, I see Kim winning (because Kim seems to be controlling the decisions at this stage).

--That Reward Challenge was nuts.
Sophie tweeted about this, but that waterslide challenge really was like something on the show "WipeOut." Holy cow. Did you see how steep that fall was? And did you see Leif tumble as he FLEW off the slide? I can't believe there wasn't an injury there. Wow! (PS: I loved it. And I would have LOVED to do it. PPS: I would have LOVED even one of those Rewards. Hello steak? Pie? I want my mommy!)

--Tarzan kinda scares me.
I'm sure he's a great guy in person, BUT on on the show Tarzan is starting to scare me. Like, I'd keep the pickaxe and the machete AWAY from him. When he asked Chelsea about her "boob job," I almost fell over. Who does that? What the what? (PS: I thought she did a great job of tolerating/outlasting him. Although, after playing the game, I don't like the idea of tolerating people. I kinda want the people that bug me GONE. Ha ha ha.)

--Never steal a woman's pickaxe.
I think Michael's game was too aggressive from the get-go. The other players had to see him as a threat (physically and strategically). It only made sense for him to go next. (You don't want him going on an immunity run--which seems possible.) I think the women made the right decision to take him out last night. (PS: We should note--not all of the women knew that Michael was going last night. Did you see how the votes came in? Looks to me like we've got a F6 women, with Alicia, Kat, and Christina in the bottom 3.)

--Jay has to go (next).
That puzzle challenge was ridiculous. How hard would that be on a normal day?--forget about doing it when you are hungry, cold, away from family, and working on limited sleep! I couldn't believe BOTH Kim and Jay were so close at the end. That was impressive.

I know Jay was smart play for immunity--because heaven knows he needed it. BUT, I think he's got to be the next one to go. He "gets it." He knows the women are taking the men out, and as a result, Jay's the next big threat. (PS: By voting with the women, Troy has proven he's not going to rock the boat. He's not as much of a threat as Jay at this point.)

--It's funny, I don't mind the original Manono tribe getting picked off one-by-one, but I bet it would really bug me to see the men do that to the original Salani/women.
One reason I love this show: it makes you think! And one thing I've thought a lot about this season is gender roles. Would I align with my gender before my age, profession, geographic tie, etc.? And, how do I feel when women lead, etc? Anyway, I'm rambling, but one thing I noticed last night is that I kind of LIKE seeing the men go down! (But, I bet I would have hated a season where the women were Pagonged like that.) What's that all mean? Hmmmm?

Almost Passover and Easter! Can't wait. How about you?
