Is it just me OR are Halloween decorations getting more and more frightening?

Is it just me OR are 1/2 gallon ice cream containers NO LONGER 1/2 gallon?

Aha! They're 1.5 quarts!

It's Time to Detox . . . and Exfoliate!

When I woke up this morning and had one thought: It's time to detox. And I think the launch of the holiday season seems to be the best time to do that. Don't you? (Ha.) Well, I'm not so sure about that. But rather than just "throw in the towel" and let the holiday buffet roll me over, I think I'm simply going to  try to be  more mindful of how I'm fueling my body. So, here's my plan, I call it,  My  " Be More Mindful of How You Fuel Your Body Over The Holidays Plan" (That's a clear and limiting title if I ever heard one.) What exactly does it mean? A Year Ago . . . To THE Day

I was thinking this morning about how much has happened this year! And so, I thought it would be fun to SEE what I posted on October 5th, 2010 --and then contrast it with what is happening  this year on October 5th . THEN: October 5, 2010 --I had just bought a camera to replace my broken camera. (Using a sweet coupon from Costco.)   --Our family went to our favorite pumpkin patch and picked our very own pumpkins off the vine--8 of them.   --My hair was longer. Well, longer in a short style kinda way.   --I was mid-way through my own Survivor "boot camp," going to the gym everyday at 6:30am and 4pm. (SIDENOTE: I did not know whether I'd be going on Survivor 23 at this point. I had been cast the previous year, and then cut, so all of my gym time was really just preparing myself for the possibility of S23.)   --Dave-man was working a 3am-noon shift. FUN. FUN. FUN. Where Do You Turn for Peace?

Sunday ZuZu and LuLu had been playing quietly for about 20 minutes when I had that feeling --"hay, they are too quiet." And, being the worrier that my DNA has somewhat predisposed me to be, I ran through about five possible reasons for this extra solitude: 1. They were painting their nails BLUE on the carpet in their room (*and probably painting more of the carpet than their nails). 2. They were in one of their siblings' rooms (*and playing with some electronic device that said-siblings would not be happy about). 3. They were at our neighbor Neola's (*which meant they were safe, but also that I never heard them leave the house who-knows-how-long-ago). 4. They were in the backyard slinging mud on the fence (*which they'd done last week for a good 90 minutes before we noticed. I think ZERO mud made it to the fence.
