Friday, Friday, Friday!

Soooooo glad it's Friday.

It feels like it's been a super-long week. Actually, it feels like it's been a super-long winter; we have really been battling colds/sicknesses/injuries since October of last year.

But in between sicknesses, we are good overall.  So no reason to complain--just gotta get through it.

PS: Something I've been thinking about lately, how do you manage colds/flus/temporary injuries?

Meaning, do you take time off work/school? Do you rest, etc.?

Dave and I were talking this week and both agreed that we see so many people work through their sicknesses. Now granted, sometimes situations require that you do, but when they don't, how do you rest and recover from illness? And do you teach/help your children to heal (by resting, what?)?

I'm just curious because we notice our own kids are feeling the need/pressure to work through illness--and I can't help but think that's not a good thing.

Just a thought.

Have a great weekend!

Yesterday we were able to have one of our favorite tiny people come over to play for a while.
(Her mom was dying when we sent this photo because she noticed she forgot to send socks for the baby. We did put socks on her ... although they were for a size 6 young woman. LOL!)

PS: Babies are perfect. I'm convinced.

Sleeping babies are even more perfect.

Zu can't get over how tiny her leggings are.

Papaya fed her--see the socks!

Someone posted a photo of Elder Meehan at a conference for the missionaries in his zone.
That was a fun surprise (social media is a crackup.).

Harriet was able to get groomed ... at home!

I don't know how we learned about this, but the groomer comes TO you. And in our case, it's less expensive than taking her to the groomer in the big box store area. The upsides are that it takes only about 45 minutes, Harriet doesn't wait in a room full of barking dogs, she isn't gone all day, she sees she is close to home, and she gets her teeth brushed on top of that. Love this.

We are getting ready for St. Paddy's Day. (Dave's great gparents are from Ireland.)

We made our own peanut butter for the first time. It was a trip! I had no idea.
I mean, I've seen it ground at the store, but never done it at home.

PS: This blender was one of the Survivor prize-money things I got myself.

(*Actually Dave got it--because I felt like I shouldn't spend the money on it. And that's not to say YOU shouldn't have nice appliances. I'm just saying FOR ME, I feel a little wonky about anything that we use at home that is as much as a car payment or a month of groceries for someone. PS: I know it's ridonkulous to give these little sidebars on the blog, but sometimes I read other people's blogs and I'm interested in how they make the decisions they do to live their lives the way they do. And I want our kids to know how their mom feels about some of the simple daily decisions we make to live our lives the way we do. Yanno? Kinda like, "hay kids, mom always felt wonky about buying a blender that was over $300.00. Did she still buy it? Yes. But she was super thankful for it--and tried not to ever think that wasn't extra-ordinary in the global scheme of life.")

Finished product.

And finally, I think this photo says it all. Bam wanted to get her cat one of those carpet play thingys. So I found one and surprised her with it (the cat was a Christmas gift one year for Bam).

But this is SO ME: it's too small for our cat.

But rather than complain, the cat just made it work.

PS: If Bam could fit in that WITH the cat, she would. She loves that cat.
