Just Keep Swimming ...



Yesterday turned out a lot better than we expected:

 --The repair shop was able to tow and fix our car SAME-DAY! So we are back to being a 2-car household (Which I know is lame to say out-loud, but it's really helpful for us to have two cars).

 --The car wash phoned late last night to say they had reviewed their security footage and were able to find the footage with Dave leaving his phone on top of the payment pillar. YAY!

After leaving the phone, security footage shows customers going through the line for the next 30 minutes, finding the phone and setting it back down on top of the pillar ...

 and that's when an older model Nissan XTerra drove in the line, grabbed the phone from the pillar and backed out of the line without purchasing a car wash.

 Boooooooooo!

For a second we really thought we were going to be able to use the footage to at least report/confirm the phone stolen, but unfortunately the license plate was/is not visible on the footage. 

 Waaaaaaaaaaa!

 Oh well, just part of life's ups and downs, I guess.

 But it was super nice that the car wash took the time to review the security camera and phone us back with the details.

 So nice.

 PS: I'm gonna use their name because they were so helpful to us: $3 Fast and Friendly Car Wash in South Jordan, UT.

When The Flu Comes To Town ...

Even Harriet-the-dog threw up this weekend. What the what? Well, if there's anything positive about having the flu, it's having it over a weekend--so you can truly REST from your work/school/etc. Right? Uh, sure. Poor Bam, Dave, Zu and even Harriet-the-dog each caught a weird cold/flu-type thing that had them "down for the count" this weekend. It was awful. I was teasing Dave, but I'm not sure if it's worse to be the one with the flu--or the mom to the ones with the flu. Eeek! (We're talking a lot of laundry and disinfectant. If you're picking up what I'm layin' down.) Hopefully they will be on the mend here soon. And hopefully, the remaining non-flu family members have used enough Purell to keep us germ-free. Recipe: Survivor South Pacific's " Ponderosa Caramel Banana Pancakes"

It's taken me a year to get the recipe (literally).  But here it is:  Chef Simon's  Survivor South Pacific  Ponderosa Caramel Banana Pancakes Ingredients Equal quantities of:  Soft fine dark brown sugar Unsalted Butter Full cream Sliced bananas (say bah-nah-na w/ an Australian accent please) Hot pancakes  Directions 1. Combine butter and sugar together over low heat,  2. Add cream stir with wooden spoon till combined  3. Add sliced bananas. 4. Slowly heat; don't boil. 5. Add to hot pancakes and e njoy !
