Parks and Recreation

Meme of Ron Swanson, an AWESOME character from the sitcom Parks & Recreation. PS: In real-life he has an amazing ability to woodwork. See his studio here: http://offermanwoodshop.com/
Our family started watching Parks & Recreation long after it began airing.
I don't know how we missed it "real-time," but once Elder Meehan was called to Indiana on his service mission, we happened to find it on NetFlix. And given that it takes place (hypothetically) in Pawnee, Indiana, we decided to HAD to watch it.
And we are so glad we did. We love it. We love all of the characters. Each one of them.
(PS: I'm not sure if this is TV13, etc.--so I don't recommend it for small peeps.)
I love that there's a sitcom that showcases a strong female lead: Amy Poehler. And now that I think about it, all the main female characters are strong/decision-makers/leaders/advocates/humorous/loving/etc. That makes me happy. Why? Well first, because I'm female. And second, because we have 4 daughters. And I want them to see/know that they are strong/decision-makers/leaders/advocates/funny/loving/etc.--because in all honesty, society doesn't always suggest that.
So, my point!
Today I came across this collection of "Advice From Amy Poehler"--the real-life Amy Poehler, not the character she plays on the show.
And I love her advice.
So I thought I'd share:
It comes from BuzzFeed, which I know very little about (as far as credibility), but it does not look like there is any offensive content on the page where the advice is listed. It's just clips of video that Amy uploads, like journal, and posts online (she's at home, work, in casual settings).
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did/do:

And in other news:
1.) Today is my last official day of classes at BYU, before finals.
2.) Our friend's son is getting married next week ... in -9 degree weather! (Am so happy for him, but so concerned for my attendance at a sealing/wedding that will be literally below freezing.)
3.) Lu and Zu and I made peppermint bark last night. I had some for breakfast this morning (With an apple and cheese. Don't judge; just love.).
4.) Whitney-the-Cat, sometimes referred to as City Kitty, seems to have a problem with our Christmas tree (and all its branches). I think it's pent-up hostility for the Christmas oufits Bam has been making her wear since December 1. (PS: Ornaments are mysteriously disappearing.)
This morning I caught her ROARING at the tree. Scary.
Repost: Taken a few days ago. This is when she started plotting her revenge against said holiday tree. I'm sure of it.
