Sneak Peak: Girls Camp, Day 1
Well, cellphones totally change camp for ME ... because thanks to Bam and Papaya's leaders, I was able to SEE how they are doing after just their first day of camp.
Woo hoo!
Thank you, Caisa, for hiking up the mountain to find cell service. It was so cool to hear the kids were there safe and having a ton of fun! (Funny, after Survivor--where we are completely sequestered from communication/media for basically 2 months--I can barely go a few days without getting an update on our kids. I mean, I will wait if I have to, like with Elder Meehan's mission updates, but overall, I just like knowing where/how all the bambinos are doing. Yanno?)

PS: I have to tell you that it is WAY WEIRD to have half of our kids out of the house this week (Bam/Papaya at camp, Elder Meehan on his mission).
I haven't been home with just three kids in years. (I honestly don't know what to do with myself.)
And I'm pretty sure Jr, Zu, and Lu are cracking up, too. We all keep looking at each other like, "Who's missing?"
Anyway, my point!
I am SO grateful for each one of our kiddos ...
and the way they just smile and "go with the flow" when I ask if we can buy a couch at Costco "without dad ... and fit it in the car ... and move the old couch out ...in 104 degree weather."
Oh no I didn't?
Yes I did.
And the kids were totally on-board.
So me, Jr, Zu, and Lu (and two helpers at Costco)--bought a couch yesterday. All by ourselves.
Heck yeah!
PPS: I feel like I may one day write the sequel to "We Bought a Zoo." And I'll call it "We Bought a Couch."
Booya!
Have a beautiful day.
| ClownCar: Me, kids, McDonald's, and our new Costco couch in a box. (PS: Don't judge, just love. We know McD's is less-than, well, less than!) |
| Our first NEW couch in 10 years. (Woo hoo!!!!!) |
