Father's Day 2013

Jay, Jr., and Dave, April 2012.

It's almost Father's Day!

Ehhhhhhhhhh! I feel so unprepared.

And I seriously have two of the best dads in my world: Dave and my own dad. (Dave's dad has since passed, but he was my other best dad, too.)

How do YOU celebrate Father's Day?

My mom and I were talking on the phone yesterday, and she reminded me that when Jay was a toddler I dressed him up in Dave's suit and had a photo taken as Dave's Father's Day gift.

That was 16+ years ago ... and now Jay has outgrown Dave's suits.

Where does the time go?

I swear I still feel 23 years old. (PS: Is it always going to feel this way--even when I'm 62?)

Anyway, my point!

I've got some work to do this week in order to get ready for Father's Day--because I'm guessing a tie isn't going to cut it. (I "missed" the last two Father's Days because I was playing Survivor.)

So, with that bit of rambling, I'm off to see a man about a horse.

No, I'm not. I just wanted to say that. (Where does it come from?)

Anyway, have a beautiful day. If you have a good Father's Day suggestion, please post it on Pinterest for me.

Speaking of Pinterest...

I thought I'd share this little saying I found on Pinterest just before I left for Survivor Caramoan.

At the time, I thought it was THE perfect motto for "New Dawn." (I even included it in some of my interviews.)

Boy! Was I right: those burned bridges did light my way to the Final 3.

They just also lit my butt on fire, too! Ha!

Good thing for me, this isn't my motto in real-life: I'm not much for fires or bridge burnings.

(Psst: Yes, I think there's a difference between Survivor and real life. I know some of you don't; but I do. And this is my blog. So there.)
