I Shouldn't Be Telling You This ...

Lu and Me getting ready for her baptism--two weeks after my return from Survivor South Pacific (2 summers ago).

First off, Happy Friday!

Guess what?

It's snowing here in Utah this morning. Woo hoo!

Okay, so back to my point: I have a confession to make.

As much as working out and taking care of my physical/mental body/mind has CHANGED my life (Survivor was the original catalyst) ...

after Survivor Caramoan, I somehow lost my love for doing anything remotely physical. And I mean anything.

And as a result, I stopped working out (minus a few random long walks, hikes, and trips to the pool) until this past Monday.

This past Monday!

Yup. I hadn't worked out--really worked out--since Monday of this past week.

It's hard to believe (for me), but true.

I don't know why I stopped (We'll I do. My brain just said "NO"). And I'm not sure why I started again (The brain just said "okay.").

But either way, I'm happy to say I'm at it again.

I feel so so much better already.

(Wo) Man! It feels better when you are taking even just 15 minutes a day to workout. (I had forgotten how good it can feel.)

So, my point!

Don't be afraid to workout. Even when it's been months or years of Lazy Town at your home, you can always begin anew.

And once you do, I promise you will FEEL better.

And best of all, you'll be willing to "get back into the frame/photo of your own life." You'll be willing to get out there and LIVE life vs. sitting on the sidelines.

BTW: Here's my new favorite TedTalk about "Getting in The Picture" of your own life. I love it--and it kinda centers around this idea of living life and making memories (Pssst: It's under 10 minutes and free):

Oh, and just because I think this will make you laugh out loud.

Literally, laugh out loud.

I thought I would share a picture with you (gulp!) from my first Survivor Audition: Season 2: Survivor Australia.

They asked us to attach a photo of ourselves to the application. And, being 30 and a somewhat new mom, I included a photo of my kiddos in the picture. Bam is on the left at 2/3 years old. Jay is on the right at 5 years old. Me, that's ME in the middle (in a non-Mormon bikini) at age 30!

Go ahead. Laugh out loud. I know I am!

Young Dawn auditions for Survivor Australia: S2

Isn't this hilarious? (Jay is now 18. Bam is now 16. And me, well, I turned 42 this past summer.)

I think it's safe to say, Survivor has been a major part of our lives!

Ya think?

(PS: I want ya'll to know that I stopped working out--ENTIRELY-- for about 8 years after being past over for my first audition. I showed them! Ha!)

XO friends. Hope this made you smile.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Remember to get in the photo of your own life AND make some memories.

XOXOXO
