Grateful

Jay and Jr. built this rollercoaster yesterday.  It's pretty amazing--see video below.


When I was younger, I never imagined I'd be a mother of 6 kiddos. 

It sounds like so many kids, no? A half-dozen?!

I mean really, even today when someone asks me how many children we have, I'm almost shocked to hear my own reply:

 "We have six children."

Six!

That's a lot of small people under our watch. 

So much responsibility. 

 And so much ...

well, so much of everything!

I'm grateful I get to spend my time on the planet with each of our beautiful kids. 

I love you Jay, Bam, Papaya, Jr., Zu and Lu.

(And I'm grateful to each of their birthparents for bringing us together. I love you, too. XOXO.)

 There are so many players to root for (for me, Denise, Malcolm, Lisa, Penner).

 I can't wait to see how it plays out. (And I'm loving all of the water challenges this season. It's like old school Survivor!)

When I woke up this morning and had one thought: It's time to detox. And I think the launch of the holiday season seems to be the best time to do that. Don't you? (Ha.) 8 Ways to Enjoy a Rainy Day

( NOTE : For those of you nowhere near Hysteria Lane, let me just begin by saying, "Yes, it's raining here." But I stopped worrying about rain in June when I stopped worrying about snow in May. It's all good.) I think I read this in an Eckhart Tolle book, but I am not sure. Something to the effect of, "Treat each situation as if you choose it." In other words, when it rains, act as though you wanted it to rain. When you gain 10 pounds, act as though you'd planned to gain 10 pounds. When your puppy pees on the carpet, act as though you'd wanted him to do that. (Yes, only male puppies pee on carpet.) Okay, maybe that last one is a little hard to "imagine." BUT the point is, we get to choose how we feel about every given situation in our lives. A Year Ago . . . To THE Day

I was thinking this morning about how much has happened this year! And so, I thought it would be fun to SEE what I posted on October 5th, 2010 --and then contrast it with what is happening  this year on October 5th . THEN: October 5, 2010 --I had just bought a camera to replace my broken camera. (Using a sweet coupon from Costco.)   --Our family went to our favorite pumpkin patch and picked our very own pumpkins off the vine--8 of them.   --My hair was longer. Well, longer in a short style kinda way.   --I was mid-way through my own Survivor "boot camp," going to the gym everyday at 6:30am and 4pm. (SIDENOTE: I did not know whether I'd be going on Survivor 23 at this point.
