A Crazy Beautiful Week

Our family is packing and getting ready for the Live Survivor Finale' this weekend.

And because there are 8 of us, that's a little wonky.

In fact, Saturday I actually felt like we were re-living the opening scene in the movie Home Alone--where the McAllisters are packing for their trip to France.

You know the scene?

There are kids everywhere,  2 million questions, open suitcases littering the halls, doorbells ringing, pizzas being delivered, and lots of general chaos.

That scene.

It's a little overwhelming. BUT, it's also so dang exciting.

I mean, in just a few days, I will get to introduce my beautiful family to my beautiful island family. And I can hardly wait.

I promise to update more tomorrow. (And I will be tweeting throughout the week. My twitter.com name is @meehand)

PS:

A few of you have asked what I am wearing to the finale'. Good question.

What am I wearing to the finale?

We are supposed to bring a few different options for wardrobe to review. And as of today, the dress I ordered 7 days ago has not arrived.

Argh.

Oh, well. I made it the whole summer in one raggedy dress. I'm sure I'll come up with a Plan B for the finale'.

On a happy note: I did find the NECKLACE I'm going to wear at the finale'--thanks to my new friend, Lindsey, at The R House.

Lindsey is a jeweler and adoptive mom (like me)--and she's been kind enough to make me a necklace I have wanted for a very long time. (And she's going to a lot of effort to do it on a tight schedule. Thank you, Lindsey.)

Which one do you think I picked?

You'll have to watch the finale' to see (December 18th on CBS).

PPS:

ZuZu at age 3.

She's our Latin Shirley Temple.

Even though it's a big Survivor week for our family, we also have some big family events happening.

Tomorrow is our daughter ZuZu's bday and my mother-in-law Mary's bday. Yay-hoo!

And then my husband's bday is Friday.

It's going to be one big party this week.

Sidenote: Why, oh why, do I have to watch my calories the week we have 3 birthdays AND holiday treats everywhere I look?

Curse you, Calorie Gods.

Fan-made PhotoChop.

PS: I really don't know the people who make these. BUT, I know where they post them.
And I hope they know that we love them. I mean it.
Thank you for making the Survivor experience even more hilarious and wonderful.

And PS: My kids are now making PhotoChops.
I will post one of my son as Buddha tomorrow.
