My Redemption Island Dual THIS Week!

Whitney during the Redemption Island Dual.

This is a huge week on Survivor South Pacific:

Whitney, Ozzy, and I have our dual at Redemption Island.

And from the looks of the promos, it's going to be a nail-biter.

I can't wait.

Me during the dual--holding my breath.
(I don't think this is what they mean by "put on your game face.")

Ahhhh: a recovery?

PS:

If you watched the recap, I HAVE to share a couple of my thoughts and questions as a viewer (Remember, I'm watching the show for the first time just like you--no idea what may or may not be shown each episode.):

1.) I loved seeing the early days of the game again.
I felt like the whole cast looked like shiny new pennies--handsome/beautiful, healthy, CLEAN, and full of enthusiasm for the game. Oh, Day 1, where did you go?

2.) Why didn't we see more footage of the pre-merge players?
I wanted to see more of Elyse, Papa Bear, Christine . . . everyone.

3.) I was uncomfortable several times.
Chicken #1. Chicken #2. Chicken #3. The tension around the chickens "crossing over." I am glad the players have a chance to earn food rewards, but those chickens are trouble.

4.) Why was Coach so hard on Mikayla when she was sick?
Watching Upolu scenes reminds me of how I felt when I watched the game as a fan--before I'd played--because I really don't know what Upolu camplife was like pre-merge. I like seeing a little more of what drove certain alliances, decisions, etc.

5.) Who had the idea to make Backgammon on Upolu?
I saw Sophie painting pieces in the recap. Thought that was way cool.

6.) Did I really say "ass" on national television?
This I am able to answer: yes. Now we know the answer the the Age-Old Question:

How long does it take to become a sailor?

It's 21 or 22 days, depending on your food supply. Ha ha ha.

7.) Can I win this dual? Can I take Ozzy and Whitney "out"? And, if I do, how long will I remain at Redemption Island?
Can't answer this. But, as I watched the preview for this week's episode, I definitely thought all of these things.

Psst: Why the stripey socks?

I can't answer that question right now, but one day.

(Apparently my socks have their own love/hate thread
on one of the Survivor fan sites. I love that. And I love those dang socks.)
