It's Time To Celebrate!

Our family really loves December.

In addition to the holidays, it's a month PACKED with special days for us:

--our daughter's bday,
--Dave's bday,
--my mother-in-law Mary's bday,
--the anniversary of Jr. & LuLu's adoption (2 years now).
--and this year, the finale for Survivor South Pacific.

There are so many reasons for us to celebrate.

December is really going to be one big THANK YOU to the universe for all of the love and good in our lives this year.

And here's how we're going to celebrate:

1. Making the annual gingerbread houses.
(Some years they are homemade house,
some years they are store bought.)

2. Seeing the Nativity and lights at Temple Square.
(in Salt Lake City, UT)

3. Playing in the snow.
(And having our Pet Shoppes play in the snow.)

4. Eating a lot of birthday cake.
(Although not that much for me--Survivor Finale on December 18th.
Can't be going on national television looking
like I've been eating cake non-stop since summer, yanno.)

5. Playing dreidel.
(Our daughter's bday is on or around Hannukah each year.
And even though we aren't Jewish, she has a fondness for all-things-Hannukah.
Our dreidel collection is pretty awesome.)

6. Making holiday treats.
(And again, not eating a lot of them.
Who's idea was it to have the LIVE finale
in the middle of the holiday season? Grrrr.)

7. Going to Disneyland.
(We'll be in California for a week in December
and we are WAY excited to see Disneyland at Christmas time.

But more than anything, we're excited to see our California family!)

8. Going to the beach.
(And yes, we'll be in the water--even if it's 50 degrees.
That's how you roll when you're from a land-locked state.)

9. Learning about Kwanzaa.
(Our family is going to learn about Kwanzaa this year--
which begins the day after Christmas.
I pray there aren't a ton of tasty treats that go along with this celebration. Ha.
I'm tellin' you, it's one thing to go on TV without showering or wearing makeup;

it's another thing to get all glammed up for it.
Is that a word--glammed? You know what I mean, right?)

10. And remembering ALL the incredible challenges
we faced this past year.
