1 Day Until the Premiere Of Survivor South Pacific (Oh My!)

A decade ago I had a dream.

A kind of fun and funny dream:

I wanted to be a castaway/cast member on the CBS show Survivor.

Well, after 10 years, 4 or 5 close calls, and lots of kids in between

Now, I realize for some people, it's a kind of silly thing--to have a goal to be in a competition like Survivor. (But, it wasn't the only goal I had over the last decade, just one of 'em. LOL.)

And as I sit here typing--the day before the premiere of the first episode--I am just really overwhelmed with gratitude for having accomplished this goal.

And I don't mean the just end result: being on Survivor or playing the game.

I mean ALL OF IT:

--The failed auditions. The rejection.

--The close calls.

--The doubt. The disappointment. The questioning.

--The belief and support my family and friends gave me.

--The multiple videos Dave-man and Jay filmed for me.

--The physical preparation. (Which may have been the greatest gift of the whole process.)

--The mental preparation--reading and writing and "pondering" that came as a result of this "dream."

--The people I met along the way.

--The excitement. The anticipation.

--The literal THRILL of it all!

But mostly this morning, I'm just HAPPY!

Happy I was able to accomplish a goal--something I set my mind and heart out to do.

PS:

Oh! And I'd be lyin' if I didn't mention that I'm also feeling a little nervous.

Nervous that I may be embarrassed as I watch.

Nervous that my kids, family and friends may be embarrassed as they watch. (LOL.)

Nervous that I may not love the way I look or sound or act on national television, etc. (FOR SURE.)

But this is part of the experience, too.

So, I'm going to LEARN and LOVE during this part of Survivor, too.

Hay oh hay oh hay oh . . .

PPS:

Just to make you smile, I thought I'd share some of the wonky PhotoChop's that Survivor fans make. It's probably the most hilarious part of the experience, to me.

(Thanks--to those that made them.)

You haven't lived until you've seen your head on a mouse body!
