No Pressure
Sometimes I get up in the morning and realize, "HOLY COW, I am the mother of not one, not two, not three, but 6 kiddos!"
I mean, really, being a mom is a big deal when you think about it.
And being a mom to SIX kiddos is a really BiG deal.
And today, I think I'm feeling a little bit like the city girl who bought a farm and moved to the country to grow corn . . . before she understood a thing about crops, seasons or soil! (LOL)
It's enough to give a girl an anxiety attack!
Because, as you know from your own life experience, moms play a pretty big role in how we view the world, ourselves, life, marriage, work, entertainment, service, food, learning, God . . .
And list goes on and on and on. (As my anxiety goes up and up and up!)
And I can say this here, but I think it wasn't until our oldest son became a teenager that I really--really--understood the depth of this role called "mom."
It's not just working in the classroom or helping them learn to play the piano.
It's not just making birthdays special or doing homework with them.
It's not just making sure they are safe or have socks without holes in them.
Being a mom means being an example to little people 24 hours a day.
Being a mom means being willing to put yourself second (or third or fourth) in line for A LOT of things.
Being a mom means being a full-time student in Every Subject Under the Sun (medical conditions, education, accounting, the environment, sports, hygiene, diet . . . ).
Being a mom means seeing the world as a good place, and trusting that lots of other people will have good lessons to teach your little people too.
And, being a mom means loving someone so much that you're willing--and able--to teach them how to live without you one day . . . because you know that they will grow and find joy in LIVING their special and unique life.
So, are you with me when I say, being a mom is one awesome task.

Being a mom is an awesome task.
(Awesome in the "overwhelming" sense of the word;
and awesome in the "way cool" sense of the word.)

And being a GOOD mom is an even
awesome-er task.
