Week in Review: Photo-Journal

Funny how much happens in just one week! Some good, some bad; some funny, some sad (Yes, I'm going to start writing Hallmark Cards.).

Anyway, my point!

Here's the stuff I was lucky enough to photograph:

"Friday Night"
by Cam

"First Day at Activity Days Youth Group"
ZuZu

"The US Dept. of Agriculture's Food Pyramid: At Home Edition"

Cam and Papaya

(*We had a contest during our health studies--to see which team could fill their pyramid with the right foods for each category. They had to use foods from our cupboards. Minus the cereal one, because Fievel ate that.)

LuLu and ZuZu

Jr and Jay

And . . . Dave!
(This cracks me up because the kids had Dave do his own test once he got home from work.
And yes, that's a lot in the "FAT/OIL" category.)

Week 3: Man (Preservatives) vs. Nature
Cosmic Brownie vs. the California Cutie/Clementine

My new favorite quinoa recipe
*quinoa (rinsed a lot before cooking), cilanto/lime dressing, black beans, peppers, garlic, jalepeno, and corn.)

ZuZu, LuLu, June, and C-Bear made a cake for our neighbor's bday
(June, that's The Best Smile Ever: "CHEESE.")

And here she is!
(I'm embarrassed that this looks so "Mormon Ad-ish," but I'm seriously so thankful for this neighbor. She is so KIND to our girls. Zu and Lu visit her about 20 times a month . . . for chips and salsa, cookies, a walk around the park. She's had such an impact on the girls. They heart her so much. So, being able to make a cake for her was a major HIGH for Zu and Lu. Then, to have C-Bead and June come, too. Major HIGH!)

Jr. (I think)
I have no idea when or how this happened.
Note: Never leave your camera unattended.

Zu and Lu as Mummy's
And who says the media doesn't impact us? They did this THE MORNING after watching The Mummy.
(And no, it's not an age-appropriate movie. But, I'm not sure life is age-appropriate either. So there. That's my justification.)

Science Experiment: Chemical Reactions--Acid and Base
(We made a Lemon Soda/Fizzy and then sweetened it with the same amount of sugar that's in a can of soda.
Holy crabapple, it was horrible.
There's no way you could dissolve that much sugar in that much liquid. It was like 3 inches of sand at the bottom of the glass.
I was so disgusted I had to rinse away the taste with a rootbeer. LOL!)

The kids are paired into lab teams, so 3 different teams for the experiments.
Jay is/was reading the instructions before they began.
Notice, no lab coats or safety goggles. Blasted budget cuts.
