So LONG January!
I am SOOOOOOOO-looking forward to February--the season of LOVE!
I mean, January has had some super great moments, but, WOW, is January one LONG MONTH. What are there, 60 days between Christmas and January 31st?
Well, enough complaining about dumb things. I mean, there are literally revolutions happening in Egypt and I'm mitching about the Roman calendar system?
For the love, Dawn. Keep some perspective here.
Well, I don't know enough about the uprising in Egypt to make a more meaningful post about freedom today--something about liberty, opportunity, oppression, responsibility . . . but I'm learning.
So in the meantime, I thought the least I could do with today's post is be grateful.
And I am.
So, here are some of the things I am grateful for in January:
1. My camera and the whole digital format.
(Could it be any easier to record life? Or share it? Crazy-awesome technology. Papaya and her friend "Daisy" are making a movie. Here's one frame of it. A preview, if you will. How cool is that? I never made a movie as a kid. I mean, I think we owned a "Cam Corder" but it weighed like 200 lbs and we would have had to put down a deposit in order to borrow it from my parents. They were way way expensive.)
2. Play-doh.
(ZuZu decided to make all of the things she found in a book she was reading. That cracks me up. This little guy is seen on the left page of the book--the boy in the blue shirt is making him.)
4. Memories of fall, spring, summer (any season above 20 degrees).
5. Aveeno's tinted moisturizer.
(And being old enough to appreciate a good moisturizer. Well, a good one for my price-point. LOL!)
6. Smoothies.
(Homemade and Jamba Juice ones.)
7. Spuds. And, recipes!
(I love reading recipes for some reason.)
8. This guy.
(And this photo--which I use way too much. But it makes me smile. So there.)
9. And this guy (turning 16 in Jan.).
10. Working less this semester.
(I cut my workload in half, so now I have time to Google "unique bookshelves." How cool is this?)
11. Kiwis.
(A perfect fruit, in my opinion.)
12. This little lady's sense of fashion.
(She inspires me to be WAY more playful and creative. Life is a stage may be her motto.)
13. Meeting Fievel Mousekewitz.
(And everything leading up to this encounter.)
15. The Dancing Raisin Experiment.

3. Cupcakes.
(Homemade, The Sweet Tooth Fairy . . . YUM! PS: Get a tube of this glitter frosting/gel. It's from Hobby Lobby and we have used it so much. I just love it. PSS: It's probably not healthy. Glitter and sugar = not healthy.)
The cupcake on the lower left is my favorite--"Rootbeer Float." |
