Oh Yes It Did . . . SNOW!
One thing I like about blogs . . . if you ever wonder "when did it start/stop snowing last year?"--you can just look at the archive.
Which, we've been doing for a few weeks now, trying to pinpoint when it may begin snowing here on Hysteria Lane.
Well, we won't have to test our predictions any longer--because when I went to bed last night it was pouring rain . . .
and when I woke up, there was a light blanket of snow on the ground. (I've always wanted to write that: a light blanket of snow.)
We love the snow, so it's fun! BUT, I do hope it doesn't snow on Halloween. Those store-bought costumes aren't too warm, so we sometimes have to cut our route short when we see icicles on the kids. And that's no fun!

In other news . . .
* We're trying to do a few extra fun things around town for our "staycation/vacation," so Saturday we went to that Hibachi-style cooking restaurant--where they cook in front of you. It was a lot of fun. I think my favorite part though was interacting with the waiter. For some reason he just couldn't figure us out. (I forget we don't resemble our kids.) He just kept asking, "Is this a birthday party?" "You want all the food in one box? It's all going to the same place?" That's funny to me.
* Tonight we're going to see our friend/neighbor/local-celebrity, Seth K., in "Little Shop of Horrors." I'm sooooo excited!
* Yesterday the youngest 4 kids sang in the annual children's church program at our church. It was so great! It's my favorite church meeting. I think the kids should run it every week. I bet there would never be a dull moment!
* And, I was able to spend a lot of time in the kitchen this weekend . . . which I love. (Thanks, Dave.)

Tepanyaki Night. |
Tepanyaki: Dave and ZuZu. |
I know what you're thinking, the crust on the R (at 3 o'clock) is thinner than the crust all around. You're right. It's the Tester's Kitchen for a reason. LOL! |
Pun-kin. |
One-Dish Dinner from Pam Anderson (of Three Many Cooks). I liked it a lot. Kids were medium. Dave was probably medium too, he's not a bean fan. (*After you cook this, you add white beans.) |
