Everybody's Workin' for the Weekend
We are MORE than ready for the weekend here.
I'm telling you, I feel like this week has been 17 days long!
Here are some of the highs and lows
from this VERY long week:
1. The weather has taken a turn for the crisp. Not freezing, but crisp. I think that's made last weekend seem like a distant memory.
2. I have a cold.
3. I've slept an average of three hours--yes, three hours--a night for the last 4 nights. (See #2.)
4. Dave has logged at least 12 hours doing homework with the kids. (He loves his new job, and so do we--because he helps with schoolwork now. Woo hoo! The kids may actually pass math now . . . heaven knows I don't speak "geometry or algebra.")
4. I broke down and got KFC for dinner last night. HOLY COW junk food can be yummy! (And salty. My fingers look like sausages as I write this. Not even kidding.)
5. My university students had their first major papers due this week--which meant I graded a lot! Nothing like 75+ essays (5-10 pages in length each) to make you dislike college. And I'm the instructor--LOL! PS: I think some of my students may be sleeping LESS than me. At least their writing suggests so.
6. I have a cold. Did I mention that?
7. I bought one of those big green bag thingys that you can use as a dumpster. I'm so excited. (I'm a dumpster fan. Love to purge the whole/life of clutter.)
8. We created a blog for Jr. and LuLu's birthmom--to help her keep up on their lives. (It's heavy when I think about it--all that the kids/she/we have had to adjust to as the adoption enters the year mark.)
9. I hit Day #90 of working out. Woo hoo! That's the longest I ever worked out. (And I'm not stoppin' now.)
10. Dave and J began P90-X. (Angie, suggestions? It looks hard.)
11. I cleaned my fridge. (Why/how do they get so icky?)
12. I considered becoming a vegetarian . . . after watching "Unwrapped" and seeing how the Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets are made. Good thing I watched that AFTER my KFC run. Ugh, it's gross. More than gross. Tivo that episode and I promise you will never eat another nugget again.
13. I made bread again! (It had been 4 or 5 days--which sounds funny, but that's a long time in between loaves for me.)
14. I snapped a lot of photos. (And realized, there are like 4 photos of Dave and I taken together in our 19+ years of marriage.)
15. The kids had school pictures. (And I'm convinced it's a "racket." We paid $132.00 for 6 kids to have school photos taken. I bought the least expensive package for each kid--and I think that includes one 5x7 and 100 2x3 photos of each. Because the 2x3s are really a popular size for sharing with grandparents.)
16. Oh! And I learned the words to Selena Gomez's new song, "A Year Without Rain," thanks to the Disney Radio Station.
PS: Yes, I'm a little cranky. I blame the cold. Forgive me.
Dave has two favorite snacks: pretzel rods and Diet Coke. All of the kids know this, so when they want to see him smile, they get it for him. This time, LuLu was on the case.
Oh my little baby loaves, you make me happy when skies are grey.
Oh my sweet Papaya . . . you make me happy when skies are grey. (She's second in command around here.)
J and Jr. on kitchen duty last night. J looks so tall!
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
