Jay Jay Makes Me Laugh

Jay (aka Jonah) had a major allergy attack at school last week and had to come home early as a result. I don't know that I've ever seen him more "allergic" to something in my whole life. He was sneezing like nobody's business and he couldn't breath out of his nose at all.

I'm no doctor, but I think it may have had something to do with the 2.7 million squirts of AXE BodySpray that blanket the high school? Talk about Teen Spirit! You can honestly smell body spray THE MINUTE you enter the office. (If I were a high school teacher I would have two rules: 1. No electronic devices in class. and 2. NO AXE BODY SPRAY! Eeek!)

Anywho . . .

I realized something--having Jay home from school for most of the day.

He's really funny.

I mean, REALLY FUNNY!

Even without a nose, he's REALLY FUNNY.

I think the rest of our kids might ask him to "get sick again" and come home early . . . just so they can see what kind of shenanigans he can come up with.

Here's a sampling of Jay's musings on his "sick day":

First, Jay dressed up with Jr. as some kind of nerd superhero. Why? No. Idea. What I do know--there were pink Superman capes, nerdy glasses with tape, and kids laughing until they couldn't talk. Oh, and photos for posterity.

Second, Jay packed Jr.'s backpack for a Scout Campout. And just for fun, Jay made it 200lbs . . . and then proceeded to put it on Jr.'s back to "test it."

Jr. looked like ET--in the scene where he is dressed for Halloween and someone takes a photo with a major FLASH(bulb). You know the scene? ET falls straight back? I'm telling you once that pack got on Jr's shoulders, he fell straight back. (No injury, but definitely hilarious.)

And if that wasn't enough . . .

throughout the day he played one song on his LP (Linkin Park? Spell?) CD something like 4,234 times--with the bass as high as it would go.

If I knew teenagers were going to be this funny, I would have lightened up a lot more during the early years of parenting.

PS: Yes, it's time for me to break down and get a camera (vs using my phone camera). I know. It's also time for me to break down and buy a lot of things. But, I'm currently on a Less is More campaign, so bear with me. Grainy low-resolution photos will have to do for now.

PPS: Dave fixed my computer. Truly, my superhero. I think it took over 20 hours to remove the virus and rebuild sections of my computer. Thank you Dave. I don't know why you do what you do, but I'm so glad you do.
