Papaya's Trip to Peru (June 21-July 8)

Where to begin?

Somehow, someway, Papaya had the opportunity to take her first trip out of the country--to Peru--in June/July.

She was with an organization called Humanitarian Especially For Youth--which is affiliated with our church.

The program is part service, part cultural exchange. For service, the group of 20+ students worked on the groundbreaking for a Breast Cancer Center in Lima, Peru. For the cultural exchange part, they flew to Cusco and hiked Machu Picchu, visited a lot of sights in Lima (catacombs, even!), and were hosted generously by the local LDS congregations there. (The went to youth group activities, a dance, the Missionary Training Center, and even the Lima Peru Temple.)

She had an incredible time. The experience was life-changing. And she made some amazing friends.

We all love Peru now!

I know she has more details, but for the blog I thought I would focus on the photos.
