Boo!

Happy Halloween 2010! Papaya carving pumpkins with Petunia--our blog name for one of Papaya's BFFs. (We heart Petunia.) Jr. was a warrior/viking. (He also carved his pumpkin all on his own. Woo hoo!) Papaya wanted her pumpkin to look like it was throwing up. No idea why, but it was pretty funny. ZuZu and LuLu (pumpkin and a rabbit). Take 2. Take 3. (Someone tell me why the peace signs come out when you ask for a silly face?) It's not Halloween without a pumpkin-pizza from Papa Murphy's. Papaya as a witch. Cam-Cam as a bumble-bee. We went through 200+ BlowPops. Seems like a good crowd? (For a rainy Sat. night.) Gr. Lorraine came by to see the kids before the night began. It started POURING rain just before the kids headed out. Burrrrr. I think Papaya's pumpkin turned out so good. It's cracking me up. (She put fake worms in it and everything.) Harry Potter character (sorry, Petunia, I can't

Seth, you were amazing! Sincerely, so so so talented. Our family loved seeing the musical last night. You are wonderful as the dentist!

Oh Yes It Did . . . SNOW!

One thing I like about blogs . .  . if you ever wonder "when did it start/stop snowing last year?"--you can just look at the archive. Which, we've been doing for a few weeks now, trying to pinpoint when it may begin snowing here on Hysteria Lane. Well, we won't have to test our predictions any longer--because when I went to bed last night it was pouring rain  . . . and when I woke up, there was a light blanket of snow on the ground. (I've always wanted to write that: a light blanket of snow. ) We love the snow, so it's fun! BUT, I do hope it doesn't snow on Halloween. Those store-bought costumes aren't too warm, so we sometimes have to cut our route short when we see icicles on the kids. And that's no fun! ************* In other news . . . * We're trying to do a few extra fun things around town for our "staycation/vacation," so Saturday we went to that Hibachi-style cooking restaurant--where they cook in front of you. Fall Break--Woo Hoo!

Image
Yesterday marked the beginning of Fall Break for 5/6ths of the fam. We're sooooooooooooo excited! (This school year has been a lot of fun, but it's also been a lot of work, so the kids definitely have earned a few days off.) Plus . . . we LOVE Halloween, so this is the best week to have a break! To kick-off the vacation, we went to dinner at Dave's friend's new restaurant, "Malawi Pizza: Pizza with a Purpose" (for every meal you buy, they donate a meal to an orphanage in Malawi), then drove to Sundance and walked around (the mountains are BOOTIFUL!), then we took a ride on the Haunted Heber Creeper (train ride through Provo Canyon), and ended with a stop by Krispie Kreme Donuts for a free "sample." (I did not know that they give out free samples when their neon sign reads "HOT.") I'm not kidding when I say that each one of us said, "this was the best day ever," at least once during the night. I'm so glad we took the
