Papaya In Peru

Papaya is on an adventure in Peru this month with a humanitarian organization called Humanitarian Especially For Youth. It's been a dream of hers to travel and do service, so this was a pretty incredible opportunity for her.

The goal of the program (which takes place in several countries) is to provide participants with humanitarian service and travel/tourism opportunities. It seems like they work M-F about 8 hours a day and then have evening and weekend time in the community.

Because it is a program with Mormon-affiliation, she gets to also see the local congregations and the Lima, Peru LDS Temple. Weeeeee! (Sidenote: Her group is beginning the construction on a cancer clinic. They also climbed Machu Picchu!)

This is her first time out of the country. First time using her passport!

We're excited to hear more about her time in Peru (she's still away), so in the meantime, here are the photos from this part of her trip.

(Apologies if you are a friend reading this--you've more than likely seen me post these on social media; I'm posting again here because the blog is a journal for me and I want to make sure and have a place to go back and see everything.)
